Pumpkin Whoopie Pies with Whipped Cinnamon Frosting

This is the second time I've made these in less than 3 weeks. For someone who rarely re-makes things at all, that's a lot.

And it should speak volumes about how incredibly beyond-words yummy these guys are.

According to my brother, the perfect cookie is a simple and uncomplicated chocolate chip cookie. He gets impatient with Audrey's and my inclination to play around with multiple flavors and complex baking procedures (browning butter, chilling dough, stuffing centers) and if he had his way, all we would ever bake would be Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies. 

These cookies are for him.

Chocolate Cake. Chocolate Buttercream. Blueberry Ganache.

So, it was my dad's 50th birthday on Saturday! Woo hoo! And even though he got a cake last week, I baked him another one for his actual birthday. That's just how we do things in the our family. One birthday? Psh! You need two cakes! So in contrast to his complicated, extremely decadent and delicious pumpkin pie cake last week, I made him a simple, but effective, chocolate cake with a blueberry ganache filling.

Brown Butter Nutella Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies contain three of my most favoritest things: 1. brown butter, 2. chocolate chips, 3. Nutella. Was there ever any doubt that I would be baking them?

(Hint: That was a rhetorical question.)
